Update
At the public meeting of May 16, 2011, Council deferred its decision on the amendment to allow it more time to review the amendment and to allow staff to prepare modifications to address comments received at the meeting. Council will consider the modified amendment at the continuation of the public meeting on June 27, 2011. Background
May 16, 2011
The Planning, Building and Development Department forwarded Official Plan Amendment o. 94 to City Council for adoption on May 16, 2011. This was the second public meeting for this amendment. The first Public Meeting was held on June 14, 2011 and since then Staff has held a number of Open Houses to gather additional input on building heights and densities resulting in changes to the original draft amendment.
February 16, 2011 - Open House
In November 2010, the City’s Planning and Development staff held a number of open houses in various locations in the City in order to obtain public comment on the proposed Official Plan policies for intensification. Based on the comments received some changes have been made to the draft documents and schedules that were made available at those meetings (see November Open Houses below).
A follow-up Open House was held on February 16, 2011 to present the changes made to the intensification policies, including nodes and corridors. The following documents illustrate the changes made to the draft documents distributed at the November Open Houses:
