R. T. (Ted) Salci was first elected to the Office of Mayor for the City of Niagara Falls in November, 2003 and was re elected in November of 2006, now serving a four year term. Prior to running for public office, Ted owned and managed his own real estate company in Niagara Falls from 1975 to 2000 at which time he sold the business. Ted remained as an associate broker within the company, a position he has put on hiatus while he tackles the responsibilities of running the rapidly growing and developing City of Niagara Falls.
During his time in office Mayor Salci has worked diligently to tackle a wide variety of issues. He has spearheaded the development of a brownfield community improvement plan within Niagara Falls, and has been working with the Cross Border Mayor’s coalition to help expedite the flow of goods and people across our international borders...just to name a few.
Ted is a consummate volunteer to a wide variety of organizations within the community. He is a member and Past President of the Niagara Falls Chamber of Commerce, a member and Past President of Niagara Falls Rotary-Sunrise, he has served as a citizen appointee to the Niagara Regional Police Services Board, as well as being appointed to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario where he chaired their finance committee. Other organizations benefiting from his talents and involvement are Project S.H.A.R.E., the Greater Niagara General Hospital Foundation, and the Niagara Falls Jaycees.
While participating in these projects is very important to Ted, his proudest responsibilities are to Sharon, his wife of 33 years and to their two children, Cara and Ted.
