The City of Niagara Falls provides many of the services that residents, businesses and visitors to our community use every day. These services, such as roads, water and waste water services, recreation and community facilities, libraries, the transit system and fire protection make Niagara Falls a safe, and enjoyable city to live, work and do business.
Every year the City goes through an extensive budget process that involves City Council, the Senior Management staff and the public.
City Council must decide on the types and appropriate levels of services, and property taxes for the year 2010. The budget includes the cost of maintaining existing services as well as the costs for developing new or enhanced services. Before making these decisions, we want your opinion on:
This year the City of Niagara Falls will be challenged by many issues including the uncertain impact of the national economy, revenue shortfalls and increased service demands. As we begin the planning process for the 2010 Budget, we invite you to participate in the budget process by sharing your thoughts on how we could create a budget that addresses City priorities and remains fiscally responsible.
