The Second Edition is now for sale!
The Fairview Family History Book in commemoration of the 125th anniversary celebration of Fairview Cemetery - First and Second Edition - is made possible by a number of “authors”who worked tirelessly and lovingly to put their research and memories to paper in stories that tell of people who immigrated from far off countries, toiled the land, made fortunes and lost them during the Great Depression, served in the World Wars, held political office, was a loving father, mother, grandfather and grandmother..... Each author has their own unique way of presenting their story - some more factual, others through compelling narrative, providing insight into the way of life (and death) during the past 125 years.
The Second Edition features a few more stories than the first, plus a 24 page index for easy reference. The price is $21.00 (includes taxes) and can be purchased at Fairview Cemetery or the Recreation & Culture office in the MacBain Community Centre.
Families and genealogists can now look up burial information on their ancestors or their own family plot. Detailed information about the deceased’s location (Section & plot number), date of burial AND a photo of the monument is easily accessed. Click here to start your Genealogy search.

Special thanks to the Niagara Peninsula Branch of the Ontario Genealogy Society, the Lundy’s Lane and Willoughby Museums and the many family historians/genealogists who shared their information on many of the City’s cemeteries. For more information contact the Museums at: www.niagarafallsmuseum.ca, the Library at: www.nflibrary.ca, and the Ontario Genealogy Society (Niagara Peninsula Branch) at: ogs.on.ca/niagara/.
The Ontario Cemeteries Act (1990) states that Cemeteries may only provide the public with the name of the deceased, the date of interment, and the location where they are interred within a cemetery, as well as the name of the Rights Holder of the plot. In keeping with this legislation the City of Niagara Falls Cemetery Services do not record the birth date and death date of the deceased in our Genealogy Search information.
