Niagara Falls Transit

Niagara Falls Transit bus

Niagara Falls Transit has supplied public transportation for the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada since 1960.

Presently, they supply the city with 10 bus routes that deliver passengers to various business areas and medical facilities around Niagara Falls.

The garage facilities are also equipped to service most styles of coaches and buses, and have a licensed mechanic on duty 24 hours a day.

Queen Street Detours

All Niagara Falls Transit Buses will be re-routed to Park Street.

Starting Friday, July 16th, 2010, throughout the summer, all traffic on Queen Street will be affected due to ongoing entertainment schedule.

Buses will return to Queen Street on September 7th.


Inter -Municipal Transit

The Niagara Region held Public Information Sessions on April 14 and 15, 2010 to discuss Inter-Municipal Transit. A PDF version of the Inter-Municipal Transit Work-Plan slides is available on-line. The Niagara Region has set up a page on their website to provide Inter-Municipal Transit Public Feedback.


Road Construction Detours

Kalar Road will be closed from March 1, 2010 for approximately 4 months due to construction. Route #5 will detour as follows during construction:
Paddock Trail Drive - Brookdale Drive - Thorold Stone Road

Route #5 Nights - Glenview Loop - Effective June 27th due to safety concerns regarding the left turn from Terrace to Buttrey, the routing through Glenview on Rte #5 nights will be reversed as follows: River - Buttrey - Terrace - Ferguson - Hickson - Buttrey - River.


Tax Credit for Public Transit Passes

As of July 1, 2006, the Government of Canada has offered individuals a non-refundable tax credit to cover the cost of public transit passes. If you have a public transit pass, make sure to follow the link to the Canada Revenue Agency for full details.
