Park in the City

Approval regarding tree species, location, size and health are required to plant a tree on City property. Please contact the City's Recreation & Culture offices for additional information.

Memorial Trees can be purchased for planting in designated locations throughout the City of Niagara Falls. More information can be found on the Urban Forestry Page.

The Park in the City Committee is always looking for volunteers to help with annual programs/events including Community Clean Sweep, Arbour Day Tree Planting, etc.

Each spring, the Park in the City Committee hosts the Community Clean Sweep Event. In addition, dedicated groups wishing to regularly clean a street, park and/or trail are able to adopt an area and will be provided gloves, vests and bags when needed. City crews will also collect the waste from the adopted area.

The Park in the City Committee sells native tree seedlings each year on and around Arbor Day. For more information, please contact the Recreation and Culture offices at 905 356 7521 extension 3341.

Summer Trillium nomination forms are available each spring at local hardware stores, nurseries and garden centres. In addition, the nomination form can be found here.
