Alert: Water Filtration Company

Recent concerns brought to our attention claim door to door salespeople selling water filtration equipment or requesting an inspection of your water lines –indicating they are working in conjunction with the City of Niagara Falls or the Province of Ontario.  They are also requesting personal information on your utility accounts.  You are not required to provide access or information to anyone.

Be advised the City has no association with the group, and does not support or sell water filtration equipment. If a City employee is required to enter your household, they will provide proper identification and will be driving in a vehicle clearly marked as The City of Niagara Falls.

Dog Park Notice

Large Dog Park To Be Closed: Monday May 2 & Tuesday May 3

Please be advised that the Large Dog Park will be closed on Monday, May 2, 2016 and on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 for sod restoration and landscaping. 

The park will reopen on Wednesday, May 4 barring adverse weather condition extending the closure dates. Thank you for your understanding.

Road Closed

Upcoming Road Closure: Montrose Road

Please be advised that Montrose Road will be closed between Thorold Stone Road and Lundy’s Lane to through traffic starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016 until 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016. The road will be closed for the entire duration of the project.

The road closure is necessary for railway crossing maintenance work by Canadian National (CN) Railway. A detour route will be posted along Thorold Stone Road to Kalar Road and to and Lundy’s Lane. Local access to businesses will remain open.

Open Air Burning Fire

Open Air Burning By-law Amendment Update

At the regular Council meeting held on Tuesday April 26, 2016, City Council amended the current Open Air Burning By-law to include nuisance provisions created from cooking fires.

Council reaffirmed that recreational fires are not permitted in the City of Niagara Falls, but did approve wood burning cooking fires.

Take the Transit Questionnaire Now!

The City of Niagara Falls is undertaking a Public Consultation process to engage the residents of the City and stakeholders of transit to ensure comments and issues are considered into the proposed enhancements to transit service.

Future Public Open Houses are tentatively scheduled for June 2016, with further information to be provided at a later date. In the meantime - please fill out a short Transit Questionnaire to help provide your input on these new initiatives.

Healthy Kids Community Challenge Niagara

The City of Niagara Falls is proud to be part of the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, along with the Region's other 11 municipalities. 

This first theme, starting May 1 in Niagara Falls is Run. Jump. Play. Every Day. This theme encourages physical activity through a mix of active play, sport, active transportation and structured activities.

Garage Sale at the Gale Saturday June 25

Garage Sale at the Gale

Vendors are wanted for the "Garage Sale at the Gale" on June 25, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gale Centre!

Niagara residents are invited to sell “garage sale” items out of their trunk to benefit the city's Activity Subsidy Fund, which allows children to participate in recreation programs.

Applications can be found online, or the MacBain Community Centre or the Gale Centre.

The deadline for Vendor Applications is Wednesday, June 1st, 2016

Key to the City

Keys to the City: Call to Artists

The Mayor’s Office is seeking submissions from artists in Niagara Falls for the creation of an artistic and unique Key to the City. A pre-fabricated key will be used as the template for submissions. This call is limited to one key per artist and five artists will be selected. Keys will be distributed to the selected artists for completion of the project. The call is open to all residents of Niagara Falls, Canada.
