Niagara Falls, ON, June 2, 2016 - Niagara Falls Schools In Bloom Recognition of Excellence Ceremony Join us to celebrate the accomplishments of 12 participating schools in the 2016 Niagara Falls Schools In Bloom Program. Through the support of the Park in the City Committee, the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture and many local sponsors, schools were able to plan and implement various horticulture and environmental projects at their school during the spring season. All projects were student driven and supported by staff and volunteers.

The Recognition of Excellence Ceremony is held each year to celebrate the different projects and sponsors involved in the program. The 2016 season marks the 10th anniversary of the Niagara Falls Schools In Bloom Program.

  • What: The Niagara Falls Schools In Bloom Recognition of Excellence Ceremony. Niagara Parks Commission Chair, Ms. Janice Thomson and Mayor of the Niagara Falls, Jim Diodati will bring greetings. City Councillors Victor Pietrangelo and Mike Strange will be the Masters of Ceremonies.

  • Where: The Niagara Parks School of Horticulture, located at 2565 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ontario.

  • When: Monday, June 13, 2016. Reception begins at 2:30 p.m. with the ceremony beginning at 3:00 p.m. Festivities to conclude at 4:00 p.m.

  • Who: Participating schools include: Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School, Cardinal Newman Catholic Elementary School, Kate S. Durdan Public School, SaintMichael Catholic High School, Saint Mary Catholic Elementary School, Notre Dame Catholic Elementary School, Saint Paul Catholic High School, River View Public School, A.N. Myer Secondary School, Stamford Collegiate Secondary School, Cherrywood Acres Public School and Princess Margaret Public School.

    Participating sponsors include: Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc., Land Care Niagara, Gauld Nurseries, Meridian Credit Union, the Niagara Falls Horticultural Society, Walker Environmental Group, The Home Depot, The Niagara Parks School of Horticulture, The Park in the City Committee and The City of Niagara Falls.

  • Why: To recognize the students of the 12 participating schools and the generous sponsors involved in the 2016 Niagara Falls Schools In Bloom Program.
